VR Vout at 5 Volts!

I've observed this error twice now (Asus z690, 14900K CPU, Default Intel Extreme Profile, 256GB 3600MHz ram). first time, I was working in Word. No CPU stress tests. Second time was last night. I was running a memory stress test, which ate up to 99% of RAM during testing. What's the cause? Is my mobo or CPU dying?

That's certainly a wrong readout. Are you perhaps running some other monitoring/tweaking/fan or RGB control tool? It could be due to a conflict between them.

I'm running Corsair iCUE, Asus Armoury Crate, EVGA Precision X1 GPU tool in the background. But these should be benign tools.

iCUE isn't "benign" for sure

So, is the readout due to a bad VR chip on my cpu or just a glitch in reading the value because of some interference from iCUE?

Most likely it's due to conflict with other software.
