Yes I have HWiNFO running with the system all times so I can monitor whatever interests me during all my tasks/games.
Its the geek's monitoring heaven (tool)software...
You probably meant Windows 95. There has never been a 97.
The first HWiNFO was running on DOS 3.2x I still recall testing first code at school on PC XT and 286s 386 was a beast back then
I have added the most important temperature sensors - CPU, chipset, GPU and all 3 drives - to the tray notification area (TNA aka system tray) so that I can see them at a glance. That's something SpeedFan can't do, but Motherboard Monitor did back in the 2000/XP days; yes, I'm that old .
The monitoring of any sensor can be disabled by pressing Del when it's highlighted, or by right-clicking and selecting "Disable monitoring".
But I didn't disable monitoring any sensors. I've let HWiNFO show each one I mentioned as a separate icon in the system tray. In the sensors window click on the "Configure Sensors" button (the cog wheel), then go to the tab "System Tray". There one can add/remove each one to/from the system tray. Another way is to right-click any sensor in the Sensors window and select "Add to tray", but if you want to configure the icon (e.g. color, scaling, font) it needs to be done via the configuration window.
PS: My first Windows version was Win3.1 back in the 90's which was then replaced with Win95 a short time later. Win2k/XP was such a relief back then compared to their predecessors. But I don't want to go too far off-topic.
