    Windows 10 Defender blocking HWInfo?

Check if you can add the HWiNFO executable to the whitelist of the Controlled Folder Access protection feature. See for example the screenshots in this HowTo: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/113380-how-enable-disable-controlled-folder-access-windows-10-a.html Regards Dalai

    hwinfo64 or cpuz wrong frequency?

Well, the CPU frequency is calculated by multiplying the bus clock (usually 100 MHz) with the multiplier (47 in your case). Since the bus clock is shown as 23 MHz the result is 1081 MHz instead of 4700 MHz. The effective core clocks are shown correctly, though. Regards Dalai

Help wanted: Strange crashes within minutes of starting up a game

Your log doesn't show anything unusual. That being said, the 12V line drops voltage as soon as the GPU load goes up (and vice versa), but it's still within the ATX spec/tolerance (+- 5% IIRC). It's possible that the PSU can't keep up with the fast changes in load. You could try another PSU just...

Help wanted: Strange crashes within minutes of starting up a game

Try to reproduce the crashes with FurMark and/or Prime95. If they occur with either of those programs, the PC has a hardware issue. Depending on where it crashes (GPU or CPU load), it's likely that the PSU or GPU or even the mainboard is the culprit. It's also possible that the PCIe power cables...

Can't figure out which PCIe NVME is supported

The system specs I found online say that the GA35 uses the AMD X570 chipset. If that's true, the system can support PCIe 4.0 everywhere, i.e. devices connected to the CPU or the chipset. Support for PCIe 4.0 doesn't mean it's using it, though. Keep in mind that PCIe is backwards compatible...

How to get hwinfo to start as a minimized task

In the startup screen, enable "Sensors only". In the HWiNFO settings, enable "Minimize Sensors on Startup". The corresponding items in HWiNFO64.ini (or HWiNFO32.ini) are[Settings] MinimalizeSensors=1 SensorsOnly=1 Regards Dalai

Hwinfo32 readings for SMR HD don't make sense

Ah, a dummy value makes sense.

Hwinfo32 readings for SMR HD don't make sense

As explained above, the number of sectors for LBA 48-bit is correct. It's only the LBA 32-bit value which I have doubts about, too. My guess is that should be LBA 28-bit instead of LBA 32-bit. Then it would match the maximum value addressable with 28 bits. BTW: This has nothing to with the...

    Generate a HWINFO64 Report

Uncheck "Summary only" option in the start screen. Then, the HWiNFO main window will come up. Regards Dalai

Hwinfo32 readings for SMR HD don't make sense

3907029168 sectors * 512 bytes = 2,000,398,934,016 bytes in total which is pretty much 2 TB or 1863 GiB - the capacity of the drive. I admit that I don't know why the LBA 32-bit sector count is capped at that number although 2^32 is roughly 4.29 billion sectors which should be enough to address...

    Sudden shutdown on high use

Not necessarily. Usually it's some kind of protection circuit that is triggered and when that happens, the whole system just shuts off within a second or so. One example is OCP (over current protection) in desktop PC PSUs. There are several kinds of protection circuits in computer systems these...

    Sudden shutdown on high use

Sudden power cuts can't be analyzed with software because the OS isn't running anymore when that happens. You log doesn't show anything unusual as far as I can see. But it probably doesn't contain all readouts within the last few seconds before the system shut down. My guess is that a component...

    Sudden shutdown on high use

It would be nice if you could provide more details on what exactly happens when the system shuts down. Do you get a BSOD or does the system just turn off suddenly (in an instant) and unexpectedly like the power was cut? Does it occur faster once the system is heated up? Next, I recommend to run...

    VRM Temp is wrong

Tip: Your BIOS most likely supports creating and saving screenshots. Look in the legend which key to press, although it often is F12. You need to have some drive with FAT16 or FAT32 file-system to save the image. The file can then be converted to PNG (or JPG) to make it much smaller in size...

IMPORTANT Explaining the AMD Ryzen "Power Reporting Deviation" -metric in HWiNFO

Around 60% PRD is weird (and too low), I agree. Do you run your system and CPU at stock settings? XMP for memory is OK, but every other voltage and frequency should be at stock/default/auto. If it is at stock, it's possible that this board indeed underreports what it supplies to the CPU. This...

IMPORTANT Explaining the AMD Ryzen "Power Reporting Deviation" -metric in HWiNFO

OK, let me rephrase. What PRD value do you get while the CPU is under full load (i.e. CineBench is running/looping)? As soon as the load is gone, the PRD value gets irrelevant. In other words, it's no use to let CB run for several minutes and reading the PRD value afterwards. It's only relevant...

IMPORTANT Explaining the AMD Ryzen "Power Reporting Deviation" -metric in HWiNFO

@bloody74: You're in luck I'm German myself and can understand your post. However, I recommend you write in English next time since this is (primarily) an English language forum. As I'm just a user like yourself, this is no moderation or anything from my side. Just keep in mind that the...

    Troubleshooting plea for help

What does the Windows Event Log say? Any errors or warnings in there that might give some clues to hardware or driver issues? Is it possible to toggle Numlock repeatedly when the issue occurs? Is there any disk activity while the system is frozen? Which drivers did you update? Did you try to...
