Personally, I'm not sure for the AMD Radeon HD 6970. Seems like you made the logical choice. Have you looked at the HWiNFO sensor values when gaming or running a benchmark? That should be a good indication of which one to use.

The ID will depend on your card, but for me it is "GPU Core Load". Just find the correct entry in the HWiNFO sensors window, and then get the ID from the included shared memory viewer application. Here's a picture of mine:

Glad you figured it out. Yes, it does rely on the VC++ runtimes. This plugin was developed when it was included with Rainmeter (ver 2). I did not realize Rainmeter made a change and no longer includes it. I'll take a closer look later. At least the solution is simple.
